Update From Germany - January 2023

We would like to wish everyone a happy new year.

Last year was filled with thrills and blessings, all praise to the LORD. Since our last report, we have continued to take steps of faith backed by patience and endurance. The LORD has continued to help us to establish ourselves in Germany (Deut.3:28). In fact, we are beginning to love it here, even though we miss the UK a lot. We have continued to commit ourselves to prayers and activities that will help us with language proficiency and ministry work. Our German is still not good but we have continued to improve surely but slowly.

Jan23 1We have now been formally accepted as members of the AN (All Nations International) Team in Hamburg. This is the mission’s organisation that is reaching the refugees and others for Christ in Hamburg and its environs as mentioned in one of our previous reports. We started in November and have been supporting the Ukrainians affected by the war. The team is supporting the Christians among them and making friends with the non-Christians to be able to introduce Christ to them. Since the team is new, only a handful of them attend the welcome meetings but the team has been growing slowly. Please pray along with us as we hope to get to know more of the Ukrainians while they are still in the camps. We have also started a DBS training with AN, this training will be providing us with more tools we can apply to introduce Christ to our community through friendship making. This course will continue to the March or April 2023. The picture shows me with some of our All Nations colleagues and some Ukrainian refugees at the All Nations office in Hamburg. Kemi was working on the day, so was unable to attend.

Jan23 2The Church in Buchholz is doing well and we continue to run the small group focused on training and commissioning a team for Alpha course. On a more global note, the German way of life and communities continue to be overwhelmed with the influx of Ukrainian refugees in addition to the Syrian-Iranian-Afghanistan refugees they are already managing.

In this photo, Kemi and I are having a great time with one of our language class colleagues, a Sudanese refugee living with his Sudanese wife, at his home with some of our colleagues standing around a bonfire.

Finally, we would like to say a big thank you for your continued partnership in this project. The LORD will reward everyone of you for praying and giving to support us. GOD bless you.

Prayer Points:

  • Pray for a revival in Germany and Europe.

  • Pray for The LORD to intervene in the war as it is affecting the standard of living in Germany.

  • Pray for better networking between the Local churches, the diaspora African and Asian churches. We hope that the manifestation of the Spirit of GOD will help the local churches to return to relevance and attract the younger generation.

  • Pray for the younger generation in Europe as many are staying away from the church.
